NOTICE
Professional and amateur performers and theatre groups are hereby warned that Abraham and Mary – A Dramatic Character Study of the Lincolns is subject to a royalty. This play is fully protected under the copyright laws of the United States of America, Canada, the British Commonwealth and all other countries of the Copyright Union.
RIGHTS RESERVED
All rights to this play are strictly reserved, including professional and amateur stage performance rights. Also reserved are: motion picture, recitation, lecturing, public reading, radio broadcasting, television, video, Internet exhibition and the rights of translation into non-English languages.
 
PERFORMANCE RIGHTS AND ROYALTY PAYMENTS
All amateur and professional performance rights to Abraham and Mary are controlled exclusively by the author - Bo Metzler (or his estate). No amateur or professional production groups or individuals may perform this play without securing license and royalty arrangements in advance from the author.

Royalty fees are subject to change without notice. Appropriate fees will be set upon application in accordance with your producing circumstances. Any licensing requests and inquiries relating to amateur and professional performance rights should be addressed to bometzler@gmail.com.
Royalty of the required amount must be paid, whether the play is presented for charity or profit and whether or not admission is charged.
AUTHOR CREDIT
All groups or individuals who receive permission to produce this play must give the author credit in any and all advertisement and publicity relating to the production of this play. The author’s billing must appear directly below the title on a separate line where no other written matter appears. The name of the author must be at least 50% as large as the title of the play. No person or entity may receive larger or more prominent credit than that which is given to the author.
 
PUBLISHER CREDIT
Whenever this play is produced, all programs, advertisements, flyers or other printed material must include the following notice:  Produced by special arrangement with Bo Metzler
 
TRADE MARKS, HISTORICAL FIGURES AND MUSICAL WORKS
This play includes references to historical figures and the suggested use of photos of historical figures. This play also contains suggestions for the use of musical works (either in part or in whole). The author has not obtained any corresponding rights for the performance of these works. The direction of such works is only the author’s suggestion and is believed to fall within the “fair use” law. The play producer(s) are responsible for securing any performance licensing rights where appropriate or necessary.
 
COPYING
Copying from the play, in any form (in whole or excerpt), whether photocopying, scanning, recording, videotaping, storing in a retrieval system, or by any other means is strictly forbidden without consent of the author.
 
TO PERFORM THIS PLAY
1. Royalty fees must be paid to the author (or author’s estate) before permission is granted to use and perform the author’s work.
2. Royalty of the required amount must be paid each time Abraham and Mary is performed, whether the play is presented for charity or profit and whether or not admission is charged.
3. When performing Abraham and Mary, enough playbooks must be purchased for cast and crew (minimum of four).
4. Copying or duplication of any part of this script is strictly forbidden and violates this agreement. Copying, rather than purchasing cast/crew copies, and/or failure to pay royalties is a federal offense.
5. Abraham and Mary must be presented only as published by Bo Metzler without any changes, additions, alterations or deletions to the text and title. If the producer(s) desire to make any minor change(s), they must obtain written authorization from the author (or his estate) to do so.
6. Credit to the author is required on all promotional items associated with this play’s performance(s).

VIDEO RECORDING FOR PURPOSES OF PROMOTION
It may be desirable for the producer(s) to provide local promotion of the play via local media as a way to promote or advertise their production of Abraham and Mary. You may do the following kinds of promotion under the restrictions listed below. You are reminded that written approval is required.
 
1. Cable and Broadcast Media (local broadcast television, cable television or satellite television)
a. A total of 5 minutes may be recorded.
b. A maximum of 60 seconds may be broadcast.
c. The broadcast video must contain the title of the play, Abraham and Mary; the author’s name, Bo Metzler; the producing theatre company’s name; and a minimum of one of the play’s scheduled performance dates.
d. Written permission from the author is required before the video is recorded.
 
2. Internet Exhibition (i.e. You Tube, Daily Motion, My Space, Facebook and similar sites)
a. A total of 5 minutes may be recorded.
b. A maximum of 5 minutes may be broadcast.
c. You may not exhibit the video in parts or installments in order to exceed the 5 minute limit.
d. The exhibition video must contain the title of the play, Abraham and Mary; the author’s name, Bo Metzler; the producing theatre company’s name; and a minimum of one of the play’s scheduled performance dates.
e. Written permission from the author is required before the video is recorded.
 
VIDEO RECORDING FOR THE CAST AND CREW
It is necessary for you to purchase a Cast and Crew Video Recording License in order to make a video record of your production with the following restrictions:
a. The video record of your production is for private, non-commercial viewing only.
b. You may not distribute the video in any form to anyone who did not work on the production. Generally, your distribution is limited to the cast and crew list as shown in the play program.
c. You may not sell copies of the video to the public in any form.
d. You may not post, make available for download or exhibit the video in any form via the Internet.
e. The exhibition video must contain the title of the play, Abraham and Mary; the author’s name, Bo Metzler; the producing theatre company’s name; and a minimum of one of the play’s scheduled performance dates.
f. You must pay the Cast and Crew Video Recording License fee indicated on the order form. If you do not purchase a license, you may not make a video record of the entire play.
 
NO OTHER VIDEO RECORDING IS PERMITTED.
